Our Church Leadership

Rev, Tony Mecca

Pastor Tony (as he likes to be called) has been in ministry for more than two decades. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Charter Oak State College in Connecticut, and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Pastor Tony served three churches in the United Methodist Denomination, including one in Saugerties. When he retired from the UMC, he started a new, non-denominational church, Good News.

Debbie Mecca

Debbie is a Christian Educator and Youth Leader with more than thirty years of experience serving six churches in Connecticut and New York. She uses creative methods of teaching and leading that capture the attention and imagination of the children and youth. Debbie has written and directed Christmas Pageants, Special Children’s Sundays, and led youth on 28 Mission Trips to Tennesse, Virgina, Kentucky and Maine as well as numerous local mission projects.

Pastor Tony & Debbie have three adult children and four adorable grandchildren.

Board of Directors

Good News has a Board of Directors which is elected each May. The Board makes decisions concerning finances, insurance, maintains church property and makes policies to ensure compliance with all legal matters. Good News is a New York State non-profit Religious Corporation and has been given Non-Profit Status (501c3) with the Internal Revenue Service.
